Our Creative God

“For from the creation of the world the invisible things of Him are clearly seen, being understood through the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.” Romans 1:20

I had the privilege of visiting one of Hawaii’s eight main islands this summer and it truly was nothing short of breathtaking! The spectacular scenery had me marveling at the wonders of our creative God. Through his creativity, He gives us a small glimpse into understanding Him just a little bit more simply by observing His magnificent handy work. Just as God created no two people alike, He also created no two places exactly the same. Last summer I had the opportunity to visit Alaska. Our remarkable God could not have created any two places with more beauty and awe struck wonder as Hawaii and Alaska. Thinking about the two contrasting landscapes, I find my mind marveling at the massive creativity our God has. I truly find it inconceivable that these places could have just came about by chance. These two places have even more creative intuition behind them than the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. I don’t know a single person on earth who would argue that the meticulous painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel simply came about by chance. This massive painting was perfectly designed for each and every inch of that ceiling. The same goes with the majestic landscapes we have the opportunities to observe throughout our lifetime. This beauty was not a product of chance, but rather a hand crafted piece of artwork on display by a God whose attention to detail is unmatched by anyone! I count it a privilege to be called a child of such a masterful creator.

Lord, I thank you that you are such a creative God. I thank you that the invisible things of you are clearly seen and understood through the things you have made so that we can be without excuse. Help us to soak in the beauty of your marvelous creation and not take for granted your handy work all around us.
